For those wanting to become a caregiver.

Being a caregiver is a rewarding and fulfilling career. The State of Arizona requires caregivers to receive specialized training and pass the state exam. At Assisted Living Pfundamentals:

  1. You can start classes today.
  2. All class work is completed online.
  3. Training is tailored to your schedule and self-paced.
  4. You schedule your state exam at a location and time that works for you.

Your training will consist of 62 total hours. The state exam is offered every week at multiple locations and times.

Training topics include: Legal and ethical issues and resident rights, communication and interpersonal skills, job management skills, service plans, infection control, nutrition and food preparation, fire, safety, and emergency procedures, home environment and maintenance, basic caregiver skills, mental health and social service needs, caring for the cognitively impaired resident, skills for basic restorative services, and medication management.

Cost: Class $385 plus State test $65.00 = Total Signup cost of $450.00

When does the training start and finish?
Training starts once you register and pay. Training modules are self-paced and must be completed in two months.
How many hours am I required to complete in the classroom?
Caregivers: required to complete 50 hours of module training plus 12 hours of skills training.
Can I complete all my training online and at home?

What is required to take the state exam?
To be eligible to take the state caregiver exam you need to complete all 64 hours of training and provide evidence of your food handlers card.
How many times can I take the state caregiver exam?
Arizona allows 2 attempts to pass. In the event you are unsuccessful, you will be required to retake the training program; including paying the fee.
Am I required to have a finger print card?

Are refunds available?
Once you enroll, you have 5 calendar days to withdraw from the course and receive a refund. Refunds must be requested by email to [email protected] Two exceptions: 1. There is a $100.00 program registration fee that is non refundable. 2. You must not start any of your training. If you started your training no refund will be given.
In what language is the training taught?
All training is taught in English. The state exam is only given in English.
I have a caregiver certificate from another state can I use that and just take the state exam?
Arizona does not recognize other state's certifications. You will need to take an Arizona approved course to be eligible for the state exam.
I have a lot of experience can I just take the state exam?
Unfortuantely no. The NCIA board requires a formal training no matter how many years you have worked.
